“There is hope for your future,” declares the Lord.

This Sunday

We come to this Sunday, and begin the week that is called Holy. It is a week of completing the journey with Jesus to Jerusalem, and giving our response to the Invitation to the Cross. We begin this Sunday with a palm processional, and our service ends taking us into the preparation for the passion. The scripture texts are Matthew 21: 1-11 and Philippians 2: 5-11. The sermon title is “An Invitation to the Cross: An Invitation to Kneel.”

Historically, in the church, this has been the season where the church welcomes new members, and we will do that this Sunday as we receive into membership nine of our youth from this year’s confirmation class during the worship service. There will also two baptisms this Sunday.

Please note in the announcements this Sunday the schedule for the Holy Week services. Also, please remember that this Sunday, April 13 is the last day to sign up for the meal for the Maundy Thursday Love Feast. Do not forget to do so that before you leave on Sunday.

We will also be dedicating our One Great Hour of Sharing offering. Envelopes will be provided in your bulletins, and children may bring their One Great Hour of Sharing boxes for dedication this Sunday.

May the grace and peace of our Lord, Jesus Christ rule your hearts and your lives as we move closer to the great Easter morning with loud shouts of that “A” word.

Until Sunday,

Pastor Dottie
