The office of Deacon is one of sympathy, witness and service after the example of Jesus. Deacons minister to those who are in need, the sick, the friendless and any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith. Deacons visit the home-bound and keep in touch via cards and phone calls with those who are unable to attend worship services. The deacons deliver flowers every Sunday when they are available for distribution. Following the worship service, a deacon is available at the front of the sanctuary for those who would like to join in prayer. Deacons are also stationed in the sanctuary for prayer requests during communion services.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The deacons sponsor the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Members meet on Monday afternoons and always seek to invite new participants. In 2018, the ministry gave away 15 prayer shawls and 4 baby blankets.
