“Christian worship joyfully ascribes all praise and honor, glory and power to the triune God. In worship the people of God acknowledge God present in the world and in their lives. As they respond to God’s claim and redemptive action in Jesus Christ, believers are transformed and renewed. In worship the faithful offer themselves to God and are equipped for God’s service in the world.” (PCUSA Directory of Worship W-1.1001)
At Hope Presbyterian Church, we proclaim the living Christ in worship every Sunday morning at 10:30 AM, by confessing our sins and asking God’s forgiveness, by sharing the peace of Christ with all of those in our diverse congregation, by praising God with music and with our voices raised in song, by listening to the Word of God proclaimed, by celebrating the sacraments of communion and baptism, by praying for one another, for the community, and for the world, and by offering our gifts to God.
We welcome all who enter our doors and invite them to sign our register during the service and to join us for fellowship after the service. Sunday School for those ages 2 through grade 5 follows Time with Children in our worship service. We also offer a nursery for infants and young toddlers.
We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month. Some of our special services during the liturgical year include: Christmas Eve, Longest Night, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday Love Feast and Tenebrae, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, Sunrise Service, and Harvest Festival.
We welcome all Christian believers and their baptized children at the Lord’s Table. The pastor conducts the sacrament of baptism during Sunday worship after a counseling session with the parents and the approval of session.
